Who runs this service

ServiceSafe is run by Adam Maxwell. For anything about your data, email servicesafe@jowcey.com.

What we hold

  • Your email address, and your name if you give one, so you can sign in and be shown on records.
  • Your business: its name, postcode, type, and your answers to the questions about it.
  • Your compliance records: your register, tasks, who completed each one and when, readings, notes, photos, and the certificates and reports you upload.
  • The email addresses of staff and contractors you invite.
  • Questions you put to "Ask ServiceSafe", and the answers.
  • A history of changes to your register, team and documents.

Location information is removed from photos when they are uploaded.

Other services involved

  • Sign-in links and reminder emails are sent through the email provider of whoever runs this service.
  • Uploaded files are kept in private file storage, and are only shown to signed-in members of the business. A contractor the owner has let in sees only the files for work in the areas the owner chose.
  • Where AI features are switched on, the certificate, photo or question concerned, together with your answers about the business, is sent to Anthropic to be read or answered. Staff names and email addresses are not sent.
  • The postcode you enter when adding a business is looked up with postcodes.io to find which nation it is in.

ServiceSafe only uses the cookies needed to sign you in and keep you signed in. It doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Getting and deleting your data

  • The owner of a business can download everything held about it, as a ZIP file, from its "Your data" page.
  • The owner can delete a business from the same page. It is removed for good 30 days later, and the request can be undone until then.
  • Anyone can delete their own account from the account page, on the same 30-day basis. Records of tasks they completed stay with the business, without their name.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
